REVIEW OF ALLURE'S PERFORMANCE ON THE MADE IN THE 90'S TOUR - SYDNEY AUSTRALIA 7/30/11

Allure

Following a lame video of some comedian talking about the 90’s, the quartet-turned-trio Allure hit the stage. Now, although Allure have a very small amount of hits given their 5-album discography, but despite this their biggest hit “All Cried Out” remains one of the most endearing female R&B jams of the late 90’s and the reception when this was performed is a testament to how loved this song is, and how undoubtedly close it is to many females (and maybe guys too) hearts.

Completely taken by surprised, Allure put on a show-stealing performance, displaying their very powerful vocals, their ability to harmonise so beautifully, and their very energetic stage presence.

All the hits were in the set, from “Enjoy Yourself” to “Head over Heels” and even some well-executed covers of classics like The Emotions’ “Best of My Love.” However, it was the aforementioned “All Cried Out” which stole the show, being not just the highlight of the set, but the highlight of the night - it’s just a shame that the song’s performance was much shorter than the actual track, and Slim from 112 wasn’t there to lend his distinctive vocals to make the song complete.

ABC NEWS RADIO : Quartet-Turned-Trio Allure Back with Plans for Reality Show, New Album

Nearly 15 years have passed since R&B group Allure teamed up with 112 for the ladies' biggest hit, the Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam cover "All Cried Out." Now with a new album in the works, Allure announced on its blog that it will kick off an Australian tour July 26, with plans to shoot the pilot for an upcoming reality show, Allure: Still Together.

The group's self-titled debut album dropped in 1997, back when Allure was signed to Mariah Carey's Crave Records. The then-quartet split from Carey's company, eventually issuing three additional albums, and saw the departure of member Linnie Belcher.

The remaining members -- Alia Davis, Lalisha McClean and Akissa Mendez -- are back in the studio. They recently whipped up tunes for the reality show Ice Loves CoCo and NBC's Great American Health Challenge.

Allure Returns To The Music Scene Announces New Music , Reality Show and More!

Veteran R&B Group Allure Returns To The Music Scene And Announces New Music Project, Reality Show and More!

New York, NY July 15, 2011- Alia Davis, Lalisha McClean and Akissa Mendez are famously known for their hits "Head Over Heels" and "All Cried Out" from their self titled debut album released in 1997. After being released from Mariah Carey’s label Crave Records in 2000, Allure went on to sign with two other labels, including Tru Warrier Records (Ron Artest label) and released two more albums by 2005.

Allure reemerged onto the music scene in October 2010 with a live performance at the red carpet launch of Women Of Strength, a non-profit organization founded by Tashera Simmons. Since that time Allure has officially announced that the group is still together and are excited about their new projects and ventures. The ladies have been working diligently in the studio recording music for their new album (title TBA), and have recruited the help of legendary heavy hitters Pete Rock and Kwame, who will join the production team.

Eager to return to their fans old and new, and to reinvent the Allure BRAND, the girls recently teamed up with power couple Ice T & Coco to record the song “Shoe Freak.” The record had its debut on their new reality show “Ice T Loves CoCo” which premiered on E! June 12th. Allure also recorded two songs with the J.U.S. Evolution for the NBC reality show “Great American Health Challenge” and will perform LIVE on July 20, 2011 at Taj Lounge for the shows wrap up event.

With a hot, new single out called “Proud To Be” produced by The Council, Allure is preparing for an Australian Tour which kicks off on July 26th and will run through August 1st. While in Australia, Allure will begin filming the pilot for their upcoming reality show entitled “Allure: Still Together”, that will document the ladies journey as they record and promote their forth coming and highly anticipated album. The seasoned and dynamic trio is poised and ready to once again take the music world by storm!
